POLPO is a bàcaro. This is a Venetian word to describe a humble restaurant serving simple food and good, young Italian wines. They offer tasty small plates, Prosecco and spritz in a setting that reflects the gloriously faded elegance of Venice. POLPO feels rustic and stripped back; modelled on the scruffy, but charming, backstreet wine bars of Venice. Open for all day dining, signature dishes on the menu include cicheti, such as fried stuffed olives; arancini and potato and Parmesan crocchette. There are a host of small plates to choose from too, such as fritto misto, pizza bianca and spicy pork and fennel meatballs, while the dessert list requires some tough decision-making with delights such as affogato al caffe, flourless chocolate and hazelnut cake and tiramisu pot.

In the mornings at POLPO there will be paninis, cakes, pastries and coffee to eat in or takeaway. Enjoy laid back early evenings as ‘Aperitivo Time’ takes place every day from 4-6pm – sip on a refreshing glass of spritz and enjoy some delicious bar snacks like black truffle crisps & Bella di Cerignola olives, for just £5.

For great value dining, priced at just £10.90 for two courses and £13.90 for three courses, the all day ‘Osteria’ menu is available every day from 11.30am until 6pm.
